44 Days 'Til Disney

Many have expressed various levels of interest in joining Will, Carrie and I in our 4th-annual-start-the-year-off-right trip to Disney World January 1 - 6 or 7. Well it is time to purchase park hoppers, reserve the room(s) and talk transportation. That said we now need to separate the men from the mice, piss or get off the pot, and put our money where our collective mouth is. If you’re planning on joining us, please let us know by Thanksgiving so we can make the arrangements.

Just to give you an idea of the cost, we normally spend about $600 - $700/person for the room, daytime food and ticket…that doesn’t include the Mickey Mouse waffle iron, the scaled down replica of the Monorail, or a self-illuminating Norwegian star wand bought while drinking around the world. We also do a couple of optional nice dinners and an “evening event” which are all external to the Disney experience, but still key the trip. We will be opting in, but you can feel free to opt out if you want to go but also want to minimize costs.

We would be honored and overjoyed if any or all of you joined us, but we understand if you don’t. We just need to start the ball rolling.

If you’re on the fence, here is what you can expect:

Magic – this is the thing that keeps us coming back every year
Drink Around the World – we walk around Epcot, sampling the spirited beverages from around the world and subtly mock other cultures. Will likes to break cameras on this day so beware!
Jellyrolls – because the only answer you can give to a creepy man who appears from the bush asking if you want to get in his hidden boat and take a ride to the Boardwalk is “yes.” Fantasmic – you’ve not lived until you’ve eaten the best lamb in the world at 5:00 and then experienced this life changing 5, no 6-D show.
Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island – I can’t think of anyone who can or will get you drunk better than the Imagineers
Shoulder High Waste – you’ll finally get a bunch of the random things that we say for weeks after we return
Wishes – With the exception of one of us, I can guarantee that this is the best fireworks show you’ve ever seen. They’ll give you chill bumps.
Monorail - por favor mantanganse alejado de las puertas
Medieval Times - Don't lie, you've always wanted to find out what it's like to be served by wenches while drinking mead and eating dead things with your hands

Hope to see you there, it’s a really big shoe,

Carrie, Will and Jason

P.S. Santa Claus is a great source from which to get a 4 Day Park Hopper.

I did a breakdown of my Disney expenditures from last year and can provide more detailed estimates regarding the "extra events" should anyone desire.
